John Woods was one of the finest poets of his generation and one of the most underrated. For many years a professor at Western Michigan University, John Woods was the author of numerous critically acclaimed volumes of verse. These scholarships in his name are meant to honor him as an artist and teacher, and to assist writers at all skill levels and all levels of academic affiliation and progress to afford the unique, often life-changing experience of attending the Prague Summer Program.

The DEADLINE for fellowship consideration: February 1, 2009.
Eligibility:
Any writer who has not published more than one book with a university or commercial press is eligible to enter.
